I grew up on a dairy farm in northern Louisiana. My wife Kerri and I have been married for 17 years, starting our lives together in New Orleans when I was Pastor of Vieux Carre Baptist Church in the French Quarter. We have three sons: Lucas (age 16), Josh (age 14), and Henry (age 8). Henry has been a part of our family since 2013 when we adopted him from China. Our family has been in Portland since November 2014 when I came to pastor Holgate Baptist Church. Prior to Portland, I pastored churches in Washington and Louisiana. We also served as missionaries in South Asia with the IMB for two years.
I enjoy spending time with my family and traveling, especially taking road trips to explore new areas. The mountains and beach are two of my favorite places. When I have spare time, I like reading a good book. And although I am not much of an athlete, I enjoy watching sports and cheering on my favorite teams like the LSU Tigers, Seattle Seahawks, Portland Trailblazers, and David Douglas High School boys soccer as our son plays on the team.
I have a passion for teaching and preaching God’s Word, and helping people grow in their walk with Christ through discipleship. I want the international community of Southeast Portland to know and experience God’s love in tangible ways. We at Hope International are here for you!
